In 2008, another cultural site from the Slovak Republic was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List - the wooden churches in the Slovak part of the Carpathian Arc. The inscription includes eight churches built in the 16th - 18th centuries. They are among the most valuable historical architectures of Slovakia, representing a unique symbiosis of Christianity and folk architecture and well illustrating the coexistence of three Christian denominations. Roman Catholic churches are located in Hervartov (Church of St. Francis of Assisi) and Tvrdošín (Church of All Saints), Greek Catholic in Bodružal (Church of St. Nicholas), Ladomirová (Church of St. Michael the Archangel) and Ruská Bystrá (Church of St. Nicholas the Bishop), and the Evangelical Lutheran churches are in Kežmarok, Leštiny, and Hronsek. In their construction, folk builders primarily applied intimate knowledge of wood, its properties, and possibilities. Common features of the churches include predominantly log, to a lesser extent, column constructions. Their typological diversity reflects confessional differences, the influence of stylistic periods, and regional peculiarities. Valuable interior decorations have been preserved in the churches.

Obverse:
The obverse of the coin features three wooden churches inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. On the left side of the coin field is the Church of St. Francis of Assisi in Hervartov, to the right of it is the bell tower from the church complex in Hronsek, and the Church of St. Nicholas in Bodružal. In the lower part of the coin field is the national emblem of the Slovak Republic, under which is the inscription of the state name SLOVAKIA. The year 2010 is placed below the composition of the churches on the right.

Reverse:

The reverse of the coin features the central motif of the late Baroque main altar from the Church of All Saints in Tvrdošín. Below it is the designation of the nominal value of 100 EURO. In the lower part of the coin is the inscription WORLD CULTURAL HERITAGE • WOODEN CHURCHES. The mark of the Kremnica Mint, MK, is placed to the left of the altar, and the stylized initials of the name and surname of the artistic design author PhDr. Kliment Mitura KM are to the right of the altar.
