Czechoslovakia Banknote 100 Korunas. Date of issue: 1989 Pick: 97 Series: A Quality: UNC Size: 147x67mm IMAGE FOR ILLUSTRATION PURPOSES ONLY! Information about the banknote: The banknote was in circulation from 1.10.1989. In the right field, the portrait of Klement Gottwald dominates. The name "KLEMENT GOTTWALD" and the birth and death years "1896-1953" are to the right of the portrait. On the reverse side, Hradčany with the Lesser Town Bridge Towers. Author: Albín Brunovský, engraver Bohumil Šneider, Miloš Ondráček. Printer: STATE PRINTING WORKS OF SECURITIES, PRAGUE. The "Gottwald" hundred koruna ceased to be valid on 31.12.1990, but few accepted it until then. Many of these banknotes were damaged by various modifications, drawings, or perforations. To this day, people remember not only the central portrait but also the distinctive green color. However, it is true that the reverse side with the panorama of the Lesser Town and Prague Castle was successful both artistically and in engraving execution.
