Specification
Count Móric Beňovský (20.9.1746 Vrbové - 23.5.1786 Mauretania, Madagascar), a typical representative of the Enlightenment era, development of transport and trade, exploration of uncharted areas, French colonel, king of Madagascar and the first Slovak author of a literary bestseller, influenced the history of several countries. After being captured in the fights for Poland's independence and deported to Kamchatka, he organized an escape and completed the first known voyage from the northeastern to the southeastern shores of Asia to Macau. The French king entrusted him with an expedition to Madagascar, where he united part of the island and the native tribes granted him the title of king of kings. Upon his return, he attempted to build a naval fleet and overseas trade in Austria. After an unsuccessful attempt to become a general in the American army, he organized another expedition to Madagascar, during which he fell in battle with the French in 1786. His travel memoirs were published in 1790 in London and have since been released in at least 20 editions in more than ten languages.

Obverse:
In the center of the coin field is depicted a period sailing ship on stormy waves. To its left is the state emblem of the Slovak Republic, and at the bottom edge of the coin is the name of the state "SLOVENSKÁ REPUBLIKA" and the year of minting.

Reverse:
In the coin field, a portrait of Móric Beňovský is centrally placed. At the top edge of the coin is the name and surname of the portrayed, and at the bottom edge is the nominal value and the years of Beňovský's birth and death.
