Specification
A significant period in the history of Slovakia is the 1840s, when the efforts of a group of Slovak intelligentsia to constitute the modern Slovak nation and achieve its autonomy culminated. A prominent representative of this group was the teacher Samuel Jurkovič (9.2.1796 - 13.7.1873 Brezová pod Bradlom), a nationalist and fighter for the economic upliftment of the Slovak people. As a versatile cultural and educational worker, he contributed to raising the level of village schools, was instrumental in the creation of reading societies and libraries for the broad masses. He founded the Slovak National Theatre in Nitra, which became a model for the developing Slovak amateur theatre for a long time. In the European context, the founding of the Farmers' Association in Sobotište, which he established in 1845 as the first self-help credit cooperative on the European continent, is significant, permanently inscribing him in the history of world cooperatives.

Obverse:
In a rectangle created by horizontal lines, the state emblem of the Slovak Republic is placed on the left. In the right part is an abstract circular composition with an incorporated motif of a grain ear. In two lines above and below the rectangle, the name of the state is indicated.

Reverse:
On the coin field on the left is a portrait of S. Jurkovič. In the right part, a rectangle created by horizontal lines extends into the portrait. In the right part is an abstract semicircular composition. Above the rectangle is the indication of the nominal value, below it the inscription "Samuel Jurkovič" and the years of his birth and death.
