Specification
Imrich Karvaš (25.2.1903 – 20.2.1981) – economist, lawyer, university lecturer, and publicist – was not only a leading internationally recognized expert but also a convinced humanist and patriot.
He became a significant representative of economic policy and its successful implementer. He was a co-founder of the magazine Politika and editor of the monthly Hospodárske rozhľady. He published 13 monographs, numerous professional articles, and lectured in Europe and the USA. In 1938, he was appointed minister of the Czechoslovak government. From 1939 to 1944, he served as the governor of the Slovak National Bank and significantly contributed to the favorable economic development of Slovakia during difficult wartime. As the governor of SNB and chairman of the Supreme Office for Supply, he was involved in the preparations for the Slovak National Uprising, for which he was arrested by the fascists and sentenced to death. After liberation, he helped with the economic recovery of Slovakia. He refused to cooperate with the communist regime, was falsely accused of espionage and treason, and sentenced, amnestied in 1960, and fully rehabilitated only in 1969.

Obverse:
On the obverse of the coin, in the center of the coin field, is depicted the building where Imrich Karvaš served as the governor of the then Slovak National Bank and, after the establishment of the Slovak Republic, was also the seat of the National Bank of Slovakia for almost 10 years from 1993. In the upper right part of the building, the state emblem is incorporated, below the building, in two lines, is the name of the state SLOVAK REPUBLIC, below it the year of minting 2003, and the mark of the Kremnica Mint MK. At the right edge of the coin is its nominal value of 200 Sk.

Reverse:

On the reverse of the coin is depicted a portrait of Imrich Karvaš. In the lower right part of the portrait, the name and surname IMRICH KARVAŠ are incorporated, below which are the years indicating his birth and death. The initials of the name and surname of the coin's design author Miroslav Ronai "MR" are at the bottom edge of the coin.
