Ferdinand I (1526-1564)

Ferdinand I was a Habsburg ruler who reigned as the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire from 1556 to 1564 and was also the King of Hungary and Bohemia. His reign was marked by religious conflicts between Catholics and Protestants, which he attempted to resolve through compromises. He laid the foundation for a centralized Habsburg monarchy in Central Europe.
