Maria Theresa (1740-1780)

Maria Theresa was the only woman on the Habsburg throne and ruled from 1740 to 1780. During her reign, she implemented many reforms in education, the military, and public administration. She was also renowned for introducing compulsory schooling and strengthening the position of the Habsburg monarchy in Europe.
