Žofia Bosniaková was born as the third of seven children to Tomáš Bosniak and Mária Kenderessyová on June 2, 1609, in Šurany, where her father was then the captain of the castle. Later, her father became the captain of the Fiľakovo fortress, where the family followed him. At seventeen, she married Baron Michal Serényi. After the wedding, she moved to Světlo Castle in Bojkovice, Moravia. However, this marriage was short-lived, as Michal Serényi suddenly fell ill and died in the spring of 1626. Žofia returned home. At twenty, she married František Wesselényi for the second time. After the wedding, her new home became Teplička nad Váhom. Here, in the Teplička manor, both her sons, Adam (1630) and Ladislav (1633), were born. Žofia had a modest and kind-hearted nature. She did not refuse any request for help. She took special care of the poor and suffering, for whom she established and maintained a shelter. She was also known for her great piety. She died on April 28, 1644, at Strečno Castle, where her family resided that year due to unrest related to the uprising of Juraj Rákoczi. She was buried at Strečno under the castle chapel. Her body was found intact and since 1729 has been placed in a coffin with a glass lid in the Teplický church - in the chapel of Our Lady of Loreto, which Count Löwenburg had made for this purpose.
