Revolution (1848-1849)

The Revolution of 1848 – 1849 in the Habsburg Monarchy was a series of revolutionary uprisings in Europe that also affected the territory of the Habsburg Monarchy. The main goals were civil liberties, the abolition of serfdom, and political reforms. In the monarchy, the revolution was particularly evident in Hungary, where an independent government was temporarily established. Ultimately, the revolution was suppressed by the imperial army with the help of Russian troops.
