In 2021, Monnaie de Paris launched a series focused on literary styles and authors who have marked literary history in France and abroad. After celebrating poetry in 2021, theater in 2022, and adventure novels in 2024, Monnaie de Paris in 2025 honors the sci-fi author: Jules Verne, on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of his death.

On the obverse of the coin is a shell on the left, a reference to From the Earth to the Moon. On the right, the team observes the Moon from their orbiting shell, a reference to Around the Moon. Between them are Impey Barbicane, Michel Ardan (an anagram of Nadar, a friend of Jules Verne), Captain Nicholl, the dog Diane, and one of the hens on board the spaceship. In the center are the titles From the Earth to the Moon and Around the Moon, the author's name is inside the moon, and the year of issue is at the bottom.

The reverse side is common to the entire Art of the Quill series. Several iconic quotes can be read from them, such as Voltaire's "Le mieux est l’ennemi du bien", Dante Alighieri's "Lasciate ogne speranza voi ch'intrate", William Shakespeare's "To be or not to be: that is the question" or Nietzsche's "Was mich nicht umbringt, macht mich starker". In the center of the coin is an engraved quill, and below it is the name of the series. At the bottom of the coin is the abbreviation RF along with the hallmark of Joaquin Jimenez and the engraving workshop.
