Specification
Ján Kollár (29.7.1793 Mošovce - 24.1.1852 Vienna), a significant Slovak poet, historian, and professor of Slavic archaeology. In his poetic work "Sláwy dcera," he expressed his progressive views on homeland, nation, and Slavdom and formulated the idea of Slavic mutuality and unity. He developed these ideas in the treatise "On Literary Mutuality between Slavic Tribes and Dialects." His collection of folk songs, published in two volumes under the title "Národnie zpievanky čili Písně světské Slowáků v Uhrách," is significant.
