Pinocchio is a wooden puppet brought to life by the Blue Fairy, who promised to make him a real boy if he proves to be brave, truthful, and unselfish. Although Pinocchio is kind-hearted, he struggles to do what is right, even with the guidance of his conscience, Jiminy Cricket. He skips school to join a puppet show and gets into trouble on Pleasure Island. It's not easy for Pinocchio to tell the truth, as each lie he tells is quickly revealed when his nose starts to grow. Despite his flaws, Pinocchio deeply loves his father Geppetto. His first truly unselfish act comes when he risks everything to save Geppetto from a whale. This sacrifice shows the Blue Fairy his worth. With this, the Blue Fairy turns Pinocchio into a real boy and fulfills his dream.
