On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the release of the first part of Peter Jackson's trilogy in cinemas, the Monnaie de Paris mint will present a collection of rare coins dedicated to the legendary series The Lord of the Rings in 2026.
The dangerous journey of the Fellowship of the Ring – from the Shire to Mordor – is now immortalized in metal, paying tribute to the mythical saga that has become a true pillar of the fantasy genre.

After the events in the ruins of Moria, the Fellowship of the Ring travels down the River Anduin towards Mordor. As they are attacked by a group of Uruk-hai, the Fellowship has no choice but to fight so that the ring-bearer can continue his quest.
Frodo and Sam, escaping the battle, eventually pass under the Gates of Argonath – monumental stone statues depicting ancient rulers, which also mark the border with the territory of Gondor.
