On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the release of the first part of Peter Jackson's trilogy in cinemas, the Monnaie de Paris mint will present a collection of rare coins dedicated to the legendary Lord of the Rings series in 2026.
The dangerous journey of the Fellowship of the Ring - from the Shire to Mordor - is now immortalized in metal and pays tribute to the mythical saga that has become a true pillar of the fantasy genre.

Saruman, seated at the top of the Orthanc tower, succumbed to the lure of the power of the One Ring. Through the palantír, he communicates with the Dark Lord and organizes the construction of a base for Sauron in Isengard.
When Gandalf discovers Saruman's betrayal, he tries to bring the wizard back to the right path. However, the destructive power of the ring is too strong, leaving Gandalf with no choice but to flee and attempt to warn the Fellowship of the Ring in Rivendell.
