Specification
The democratic revolution in November 1989 ended the rule of the communist regime in Czechoslovakia and enabled socio-economic reforms. It also brought about a solution to the state-legal arrangement, which, due to differing positions of the decisive political forces in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, resulted in an agreement to divide the state. On January 1, 1993, the independent Slovak Republic was established, completing the process of constituting Slovaks as a modern nation and definitively ending the process of their national emancipation. The new republic declared its commitment to independent democratic states and expressed its willingness to develop cooperation with them. In the year of its establishment, it became a member of the United Nations, the Council of Europe, and signed an association agreement with the European Communities. Later, it became a member of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (2000), a member of the European Union (2004), and a member country of the eurozone (2009). Currently, the Slovak Republic is among the most dynamically developing countries in Europe.

Obverse:
On the obverse of the coin, the Czechoslovak flag is depicted, which in an arched composition transforms into the Slovak flag, symbolically expressing the establishment of the Slovak Republic. Above the Slovak flag is Bratislava Castle. At the bottom of the arch, Charles Bridge and Mount Kriváň are depicted as symbols of Czechoslovakia. Inside the arch, the nominal value of the coin 25 EURO is indicated in two lines. At the bottom edge of the coin, the name of the state SLOVAKIA is inscribed, followed by the year 2018.

Reverse:
On the reverse of the coin, the map of the Slovak Republic, a symbolic gateway to the European Union, and the euro sign with part of the stars of the European Union are depicted, expressing the integration of the Slovak Republic into the European Union and the eurozone. At the bottom of the coin field, the inscription 25 YEARS OF THE SLOVAK REPUBLIC is inscribed. The date of establishment of the Slovak Republic 1.1.1993 is below the map of the Slovak Republic. Above it are the mark of the Kremnica Mint MK and the stylized initials of the coin's design author Pavel Károly PK.
